Faig Amirov suffers new health problems
Baku/29.07.17/Turan: The health of the arrested financial director of Azadliq newspaper Faig Amirov continues to deteriorate, his wife Lala Amirli, who visited her husband in Kurdakhan jail on June 29, reported. According to her, the left side of Faig's face is numb, part of the face is distorted, the left eye twitches. Amirov turned to the doctor and was told that it is a nervous problem. To establish a more accurate diagnosis, a neurological examination was prescribed. In addition, Amirov has problems with food intake associated with chronic gastritis. He needs a diet, but there are no conditions for this condition in the SIZO, the spouse said.
Amirov was detained on August 20, 2016 on charges of inciting inter-religious and ethnic hatred.
On April 17, 2017, new charges were brought against him for tax evasion and abuse. However, following the results of the preliminary investigation, Articles 168.1 and 308 were dropped. Currently, the case is under consideration by the court. Amirov is recognized as a human rights activist by political prisoners. The International Organization for the Protection of Journalists "Reporters Without Borders" condemned Amirov's arrest, and called for removing "ridiculous accusations" from him. - 06D--
