January – September Traffic Police Fines Totaled AZN 61.3 Million
571 people were killed, another 1,555 got injuries of varying severity in traffic accidents in Azerbaijan in January-September of 2016, the State Statistics Committee reported.
The number of traffic accidents, compared to the same period last year, decreased by 9.9%, and the victims - by 11.9% (15.8% of dead and 11.2% of wounded).
At the same time, the number of administrative violations on roads increased by 22.5%, reaching 2 million 231.6 thousand. 51.8% of the violations were related to speeding, 10.7% - to the parking rules, 4.5% - to the intersection of the dividing line, 4.2% - to not meeting the requirements of road signs, and 4.2% - to not using seat belts. For traffic violations penalties were assigned, totaling 61.3 million manat. -06D-
