Kiev Court Did Not Decide Fikret Huseynlis Fate Again
Baku / 09.02.18 / Turan: On February 8, the Kiev Court of Appeal did not take any decision on the case of the journalist Fikret Huseynli, postponing the meeting for February 13.
As Turan was told, the court twice returned the case to the prosecutor's office to stop the case.
Huseynli is an employee of the opposition newspaper Azadlig. He received a political refuge in Europe a few years ago and recently became a citizen of the Netherlands.
In October 2017, he was detained on departure from Kiev on the recommendation of the Azerbaijani authorities.
The next day the Borispol court arrested him for 18 days to consider the issue of his extradition to Azerbaijan. The court did not grant Baku's request, but did not stop the criminal case against him.
"Delaying the trial has the purpose of finding an opportunity for my abduction and delivery to Baku," Huseynli said.
During his stay in Kiev Huseynli has had health problems and he needs an operation. -03B-

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
