Lawyer claims violation of rights of arrested activist of PFPA
Baku / 05.08.18 / Turan: Lawyer Javad Javadov claimed that the rights of his client Babek Hasanov, an activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan, for of telephone calls and meetings with members of his family have been violated. Javadov noted that Hasanov sent him a written appeal in connection with the violation of his rights. According to the lawyer, the Baku pre-trial detention center -1 explain this by the restriction imposed by the investigative body. The latter states that he did not impose any restrictions on Hasanov.
The lawyer appealed through the press to the Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutor General's Office with a request to give instructions for securing the eligible rights of his client. According to the law "On ensuring the rights and freedoms of persons held in detention centers", the arrested person has the right to meet with close relatives and other persons 4 times for 2 hours a month, causing him legitimate interest, Javadov told Turan. The prisoner also has the right to speak on the phone twice a week for 15 minutes.
* On May 25, the PFPA activists Agil Magerramov, Ruslan Nasirli and Babek Hasanov were arrested. They were detained together with the former head of the Gadabay region, Saleh Rustamov, and his nephew Vidadi Rustamli.
