UNESCO's recognition of the cultural patterns of Azerbaijan, the discussion of the quality of exam questions, and the drinking water problem in the village of Tatarly are the topics of today's media.
The Azerbaijan newspaper writes about the inclusion of the Sheki Khan"s Palace in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
In 2006, Azerbaijan approved the Convention on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The UNESCO World Heritage List included the Maiden's Tower and the Palace Complex of the Shirvan Shahs in 2000 and the Gobustan Cultural Landscape of Rock Art in 2007.
The website Yeni Sabah.az gives reasoning by the lawyer Akram Hasanov about the "quality of official". The basis of this problem is the lack of objectivity and transparency in admission to the civil service. The situation is changing due to the use of the test system by the Center for State Examinations.
The expert examines the test system in detail, as well as the proposed questions and answers. Another problem, he believes, is a certificate issued for 5 years, after which the passing of exams is necessary.
According to the expert, the certificate should be issued for life, although this does not preclude the passage of certification.
The website Moderator.az writes about problems with water in the village of Tatarly of the Shamkir region, because the water supplied to the village is unfit for drinking. Earlier, the villagers used clean water from a spring, but a few months ago, the water was drawn from this spring by pipeline to the Tovuz district. When the residents complained about the loss of the water source, they were attached to Zayamchay River water, which is impossible to drink because of its poor quality. So the residents are forced to take water several kilometers away.
