The significance of the Star plant built in Turkey on Azerbaijani investments, the problem of cheap deposit and expensive credit, and the dependence of education on tutoring are the leading themes of today's media.
The Azerbaijan newspaper writes about the next global project of Ilham Aliyev - Star refinery built in Turkey. The opening of the plant, the author notes, has become a symbol of the brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
The article also mentions other large international projects implemented jointly by Turkey and Azerbaijan.
The plant was built in Izmir by SOCAR for 6.3 billion dollars. In the first 5 years, the plant will annually give the Turkish economy a profit of 614 million dollars, and in the next 10 years, 864 million dollars.
The Yeni Musavat newspaper discusses the issuance of loans by banks to citizens of the country with an expert, Vugar Bayramov, who claims that at present banks are more interested in issuing consumer loans. That is, in such a way, banks get profit faster, the expert notes. Consumer loans account for more than 40% of the total loan portfolio, while the share of the agrarian and industrial sectors is less than 10%. The expert emphasizes the fact that banks accept deposits at low interest rates - 3% in foreign currency and 5% in national currency. However, interest on loans issued remains very high.
The website Modern.az discusses the issue of tutoring with an expert in the field of education, Kamran Asadov. Now to become a student without training with a tutor is simply impossible. It starts from the 9th grade and is expensive. However, this is the main income of teachers, since salaries are low. On average, the cost of classes with tutors is from 50 to 70 manat for Grades 5-6. For students of Grades 10-11 it is about 70-80 manat. In fact, tutoring became popular after the introduction of European education standards.
