Military prosecutor about corruption in the army
Military Prosecutor's Office filed twenty five lawsuits against 43 people in connection with the facts of corruption in the Armed Forces, said at today’s meeting on the results of the first half of the year the country's military prosecutor Khanlar Veliyev. According to him, lawsuits were initiated on the facts of embezzlement of state property in large and extra large sizes. Most of the caused damages were paid during the investigation.
Over the reported period 34 people were detained earlier on the wanted list, and handed over to the appropriate authorities.
Military Prosecutor's Office conducted 63 inspections in the Armed Forces, and revealed 1064 offenses. In this regard, the 125 employees were cautioned , lawsuits were filed against 30 people, 203 people were brought to disciplinary responsibility.
During the first half of the year the Military Prosecutor's Office considered 793 appeals of citizens. -05D-

During search and operational activities, on January 30 at 11:20, 16.4 kg of drugs were discovered and seized in the area of the "Geytapa" border post, located on the Iran-Azerbaijan border. According to the Azerbaijan Border Service, this prevented an attempt to smuggle into Azerbaijan 11.3 kg of marijuana, 5.1 kg of opium, and 1,990 methadone M-40 pills from Iran.
