Musa Tukanov Convicted Conditionally
Baku / 07.06.18 / Turan: The Baku Court for Grave Crimes condemned the deputy chairman of the Society of the Deaf Musa Tukanov conditionally, and he was released on June 7.
At the trial on May 16, the state prosecutor asked the court to sentence Musa Tukanov to 10 years of imprisonment, motivating this decision with the proof of the accusations made. Tukanov's lawyer asked the court to release his client and to remove the charges brought against him.
The court partially acknowledged Tukanov's guilt on the charges and sentenced him to a suspended charge.
Musa Tukanov is also chairman of the United Communist Party of Azerbaijan. He was detained at the end of October last year. The Binagadi court authorized his arrest on charges of taking bribes (Article 311 of the Criminal Code) and abuse of office (Article 308.2).
The United Communist Party of Azerbaijan was established by Sayad Sayadov in 1993. Subsequently, the party split into two parts. One of the parts was headed by Tukanov, but it did not pass the state registration. ----00-------
