Natig Kerimov Pleaded Not Guilty

In the Baku Court of Grave Crimes at the trial of the elder of the village of Nardaran Natig Kerimov and the former deputy chairman of the Islamic Party of Azerbaijan Inglab Ahadov the indictment was announced on February 2.

According to the indictment, Kerimov and Ahadov were involved in cooperation with the secret services of a foreign country and for a long time they gave them the required information that is qualified as "espionage."

During the closed trial, under house arrest, Kerimov said he did not commit the alleged crimes and pleaded not guilty. He said this after the trial. Kerimov refused to give further comments, referring to the subscription of non-disclosure of the trial data.

Ahadov is to testify at the next meeting on March 2.

Recall that the essence of the accusations against the elders remains unclear. The investigation did not explain what is meant as high treason, or in favor of whom it was carried out. Traditionally, however, the residents of Nardaran are convicted for treason in favor of Iran. -06D--
