O. Teymurkhan's relatives are taken to police
Baku / 17.02.18 / Turan: The political refugee, blogger Orduhan Teymurkhan, who lives in the Netherlands, reported on social networks about the pressure put on his close relative living in Baku.
He said that, today, on February 17, police gathered in front of his sisters' house in Baku; and his cousin has been kept in custody because of his activities.
O. Teymurkhan noted that he had organized protests against Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in various European cities in recent days, and he has not been in contact with his family for 10 years.
"My relatives were forced to refuse me. What is happening here will not have any effect on our actions in Europe. Even if you cut off our offspring, we will continue the action," O. Teymurkhan said. The attempts of Turan agency to get answer on the matter from the Surakhani District Police Office were futile. The Ministry of Internal Affairs did not comment on O. Teymurkhan"s statement.
Yesterday MP Elman Mammadov called on to bring Teymurkhan and several other political emigrants to Azerbaijan, and to punish them. It's not the first time when police come to O. Teymurkhan"s home.
Last year, on February 18, 12 Ordukhan Teymurkhan's relatives were interrogated in the police. It was reported that there were his sisters and two-year old nephew. Afterwards, the Surakhani District Court ruled that the blogger's brother, Khanlar Dadashov, and his sister"s son Sabuhi Zeynalov were sentenced to 30 days of administrative detention. The verdict alleged that Zeynalov and H. Dadashov were punished for not obeying the order of police officers in front of their home on February 19.
Their attorneys say that the charge was concocted. The blogger, who lives in the Netherlands, said the incidents is a pressure on his social activities. --0--
