The Association of Free Consumers (AFC) of Azerbaijan received a complaint from the citizen of Nurana Gektash, who informed the public organization about the deception at the gas station of Lukoil-Azerbaijan company, at the address: Baku, Khatai district, R. Guliyeva Street 6. The AFC redirected the complaint to the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Taxes and the State Committee by standards, metrology and patents.
N.Gektash claims that a full tank of AI-92 petrol was poured into the car of KIA-Sportage, operated by its driver, taking 56 manats, while in the tank there was still a little gasoline (the car pulled up on its own), and when filling an empty tank she always pays 49.50 manats. The driver demanded the rest of money, the employee refused to return the money, and on the next day, on March 20, the responsible employee of the company Bahadur Huseynov, did not satisfy the demand of Nurana Gektash.
Turan news agency was interested in this complaint, as there is an opinion among Azeri motorists about the prevalence of deception at filling stations. Many articles have been published on this topic. The authors claim that drivers are deceived both in the quantity and quality of the fuel sold.In the Internet forums, drivers exchange information about refueling, in which one must buy fuel if the consumer does not want to be deceived.

Turan called the regional manager of Lukoil-Azerbaijan Bahadur Huseynov, with whom N.Gektash spoke. Huseynov explained that after the appeal of this citizen, he studied on the Internet the technical characteristics of the car KIA-Sportage and found that, depending on the year of release, the volume of the gas tank in the cars is different: 58, 60, 62 liters. The car belonging to Gektash, was produced in 2015, and is equipped with a tank that can hold 58 or 62 liters. The same was told in the repair shop KIA-Service.
Huseynov suggested that Nurana Gektash comes to the service, drain the gasoline and fill the gas tank again at the company's expense to know exactly the volume of the tank of her car. But Gektash refused, saying that she does not have time and she has a long way to go. Again demanded to find out and punish the guilty. "Lukoil-Azerbaijan" does not refuse to investigate in the presence of the complainant and is waiting for her arrival," B.Huseynov explained.
Taking the opportunity, we asked B.Huseynov two questions on interest to the automobile community: about deception at filling stations (not only Lukoil) and the quality of automotive fuel sold in Azerbaijan.
Regional manager Huseynov acknowledged that there are cases of mistakes in the work of operators. The company conducts investigations on complaints of citizens and punishes those guilty, up to dismissal from work.
"Errors can be everywhere and always. Citizens carefully watch how the seller in the markets weighs the products, so as not to be deceived. I think it's right when our customers also, while filling the car, watch the indication of the filling machine. In case of doubt, they can apply to us with complaints and we will consider them," Huseynov said.
He ruled out the possibility of deliberately reducing the octane number of motor fuel sold in Azerbaijan, saying that they receive high-quality goods from the base. Moreover, on the basis of Lukoil in gasoline AI-92 and diesel fuel is added an additive EKTO, improving the quality of fuel and cleaning tank of the car, B.Huseynov noted.
