Public investigation group will investigate the murder of journalist Rasim Aliyev
Public investigation group has been created to investigate the murder of journalist Rasim Aliyev; the group includes prominent journalists, human rights activists, lawyers and public figures. First constituent meeting the group held on Friday discussed the situation after the completion of the investigation on the eve of the Baku City Prosecutor's Office. The group will hold a public inquiry into the causes of death of the journalist and the related activities of various structures.
The journalist Rasim Aliyev for a long time worked at the Institute for Reporters Freedom and Safety, and died as a result of beatings on 8 August, 2015 by a group of persons representing Javid Gurbanov, the interests of the FC "Gabala". The footballer and his accomplices were arrested and will be brought to trial early next year. —0-
