RECONSTRUCTION OF BILGA-SUMGAYIT ROAD BEGINS
President Ilham Aliyev attended the ceremony. The contractor of the works is Azerbaijani-German `AzVirt Ltd.` The company is conducting reconstruction of automobile road towards the international airport named after H. Aliyev, Mardakian circle and the village of Bilga. Then the road will go along the villages located on the shore of the Caspian sea.
Total length of road is 39,6 km. Part of Bilga-Nardaran road (14 km) has been functioning, the rest part of road will come from the northern part of the capital, including towards Kurdakhani, Pirshagi, Fatmai, Goradil, Saray, Jorat and Sumgayit. The goal of the project is to create conditions for free travel of citizens to the rest centers.
This road will be useful for the people living and having rest in the zones Mashtaga-Zabrat-Sabunchi, Nardaran-Mashtaga-Bilga, Novkhani-Masazir, Sumgayit-Saray- the village of Tagiyev, Mashtaga-Zabrat-Sabunchi, Nardaran-Mashtaga-Bilga, Novkhani-Masazir, and the exit to Baku-Guba state border of Russia not entering Baku.
The construction of the new road will allow citizens of Sumgayit and northern regions to travel to the villages of Baku , nearby resort centers, as well as to the international airport not entering Baku and , will allow to cut the way by 30 km.

have not presented information on the value of the reconstruction.
Currently there is direct automobile communication between Baku and Sumgayit ` Baku-Guba and northern direction, via the villages Novkhani and Binagadi. The first road was reconstructed completely in 2008, and the second was partially repaired (Sumgayit-Novkhani, 9,7 km) in 2006. Transport Ministry is preparing project for liquidation of railway communication on electric trains between Baku and Sumgayit, and new road will be built on its place.

On the morning of September 11, residents of the village of Garagyuvndikli in the Imishli district blocked the Bakhramtepa-Beylagan highway. According to Radio Azadliq, the protesters included family members, relatives, and acquaintances of 11-year-old Rasim Khankishiyev, who went missing in December of last year.
