Relative of Ali Kerimli is left in custody
Today Baku Court of Appeal chaired by Ilgar Murguzova considered appeal of parole for health brother-leader of the Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli - Elnur Seyidov. The lawyer Fakhraddin Mehdiyev requested a medical re-examination of Seyidov due to his illness. However, the court dismissed the complaint.
Previous examination confirmed that Seyidov suffers from multiple sclerosis, but Garadag court stated that the illness did not prevent him to serve his sentence.
* Seyidov was arrested on March 27, 2012 by the MNS on the so-called case of "Texnikabank".
Seyidov, who was deputy director of the Yasamal branch of the bank was convicted of fraud and sentenced to 7.5 years. Seyidov has pleaded not guilty. It is noteworthy that of the convicted group of people in this case only Seyidov remains in custody. -03D-
