Resident of Astara Arrested for Shooting Leopard
On October 8 an Astara resident Natig Boyukagazadeh shot a leopard in the forest near the village Sim. On October 9, he was detained by border guards while trying to sell the leopard’s skin in a neighboring village.
On the fact the prosecutor's office opened a criminal case under article 258.2.3 (hunting of protected animals). The poacher was arrested by the court decision. The investigation is underway.
Note that in the Talish forests only a few leopards have survived. Several years ago, another leopard was the victim of poachers in these places, but the culprit was never found. -03D-

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.

During the operation of the Main Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 5 members of an organized group engaged in drug trafficking were detained. All of them have previous convictions: Bahlul Ismayilov, Royal Aliyev, Khayal Aliyev, Samir Aghayev, and Ali Mammadli.
