Self-immolation in the center of Baku
The Group 2 disabled man of the Karabakh war, Zaur Hasanov afternoon December 25, committed self-immolation in the center of Baku, in front of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (ATUC).
By this desperate step he protested against the confiscation of his seaside cafe by the head of ATUC in Bibiheybat. The cafe belonged to him since 1995.
The man was saved and placed in Hospital N5.
His father said that the cafe was demolished by 20 police officers, despite the fact that the lease expires in 2015.
The cafe was the only source of earning for the family of Zaur Hasanov, consisting of 5 persons and receiving a state allowance of just 110 manat.
The grounds, on which the cafe was situated, belongs to ATUC, which managed to achieve a judgment about the demolition of the cafe, despite the fact that other facilities around continue to function.
The complaints of the disabled man to other state agencies had no results. -06D
