Baku / 15.08.18 / Turan: The Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) made recommendations on the forthcoming holiday of GurbanBayram. The press service of the CMO reads that the festive sacrifices, first of all, are obligatory for the pilgrims who perform the Hajj. For other Muslims, this is considered a pious affair.The CMO notes that the sacrificial animal must be healthy and well-fed. A sick, thin and defective animal cannot be sacrificed.Sacrificial animals can be a sheep, bull, cow, goat and camel.A one-year-old sheep or goat, a two-year-old bull, or cow or a five-year-old camel can be sacrificed.In this case, selling the meat of the sacrificed animal is considered a haraam.Small cattle - a sheep or goat can be sacrificed by one person.Cattle are allowed to be sacrificed by a group of people.The meat of the sacrificial animal should be divided into three parts: one part the person sacrificing, can keep to himself, another - to be given to the poor, and the third - to be divided among the relatives.GurbanBayrami in Azerbaijan this year is celebrated on August 22-23.
