The earthquake hit residential and administrative buildings
The damage from the earthquake in the north-western regions of Azerbaijan is under estimation. The earthquake occurred in Sheki in the morning on September 4.
According to the Republican Center of Seismic Service of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.9. The epicenter was located 29 km. southeast from Sheki at a depth of 13 km., where the force of tremors was 7 points.
According to the Commission for Emergency Situations of Sheki region, the earthquake mostly affected buildings in the village and the village of Turan and Garatorpag. In the village of Turan appeared cracks in the 37 individual homes and the building of a kindergarten. Fences in seven home gardens have fallen. The building of executive authority of the village was also damaged.
In the village of Garatorpag was seriously damaged kindergarten building, and partially collapsed the building of the State Agricultural Production Enterprise.
A crack was formed in 2-3 houses in the villages Chaygaragoyunlu, Aydynbulag, Gёybulag and Ceyirli.
School building in the village of Okhud, kindergartens - villages of Ashagi Kungut and Bolludere were also damaged .
In Oguz r village the most damage was caused to the households Astrahanovka, where large and small cracks formed in 26 homes. In one house slipped the wall, and the building of rural school was damaged.
Cracks appeared in buildings in the villages of Yagublu, Mukhas, Padar, Bayan, Garabulag, Boyuk Soyudlu, as well as in district Oguz.
In the village of Padar was damaged the school, said district commission for emergency situations.
There are reports also on the formation of cracks in the houses in some villages and other north-western and central parts of the country. -06D—
