The EU supports Azerbaijan in resolution migration issues
The powerful flow of refugees to Europe from the Middle East and Africa actualized the problem of migration. In 2015, one milion people and elenev thousand migrants arrived in Europe, said Serhan Aktorpak, a spokesman of the International Organization Migration, at the presentation of the "Handbook of European legislation on asylum, migration and borders", translated into Azerbaijani. In his view, the global crisis is affecting the migration, and Azerbaijan, which has a useful experience in settling this problem, can share it. "Azerbaijan has a potential that can be an example. There is no xenophobia against foreigners on the grounds of language, religion, race," said Aktorpak.
Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe in Baku Dragan Filipovic reminded that Azerbaijan also faced the problem of migration and refugees. The country responded to these challenges at a high level, she said, noting that the cooperation between the Council of Europe and Azerbaijan successfully continues.
The deputy head of the State Migration Service Parviz Musayev said that after signing the agreement between Azerbaijan and the EU on visa facilitation and readmission of visa regime they are working on drawing up protocols with individual European states.
Musayev stressed the need to continue the project with the European Union and the International Organization for Migration in the field of readmission. At the same time, Musayev pointed out the problems that arise in matters of readmission.
"There are people who 10-15 years ago went to Europe for the purpose of permanent residence. They sold their apartments here, and spent theirmoney in the West. Moreover, some of them could not get registered in Europe. The host country shoupd register them in time, or to return back. Therefore, these people need help," said Musayev.-03C-
