Baku / 06.01.18 / Turan: "The fate of 103 families evicted from private houses on the dangerous Bayil landslide slope will be decided this week after receiving expert opinion of scientists," Israfil Kerimov, deputy director of the Political and Humanitarian Department of the Executive Power of the Sabail District, told Turan.
The geological processes taking place on the Bayil slope are studied by scientists of the Institute of Geology of ANAS, experts of the Seismological Service and one invited Japanese scientist. This week they will give their decision on which the fate of the residents of these houses will be determined in the district's district office," he added.
The Executive Power of Sabail district regularly holds meetings with these people, they can receive information on the hotline phone line in the district - 4931055.
Kerimov does not know what decision will be made if the experts consider the continued residing of people on this site impossible. "The decision will be made on the basis of the results of the study, at the moment it is impossible to answer the question about their place of residence in case of eviction," he said.
The landslide began at the end of last year. On December 29, Rafig Hasanov, head of the geological planning expedition of the National Geological Prospecting Service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, reported that the slope towards the village of Bail was cut vertically for the purpose of construction work, which resulted in the loss of its sustainability: "For this reason, precipitation, a landslide process began on the slope, cracks of various sizes appeared." The landslide territory is located 250-300 meters from the TV tower, in a southeast direction.
The last time a landslide on Bayil occurred in August 2011, and for the first time a landslide happened in 1870. Until 2017 in the territory of Bayil landslides occurred 10 times. -0-
