The murder of Rafiq Tagi remains closed after two years
On November 19 will be the second anniversary of the murder of prominent journalist, Rafiq Tagi; however, the crime remains unsolved, reads the statement of the Media Rights Protection Institute (MRPI.)
In a statement the MRPI criticized Azerbaijani authorities because none of the crimes against journalists in the country have been disclosed. The investigation is conducted formally , numerous defense motions are ignored , the public is not informed about the course of investigation.
The journalist was attacked by an unknown outside his home late at night , the offender inflicted Tagi multiple stab wounds. Two days later the publicist died in hospital.
Iranian religious leaders welcomed the killing , calling for violence to all critics of Islam in Azerbaijan.
A month before the death, Rafik Tagi wrote a critical article against the Iranian clerics.
In 2006, Rafik Tagi was convicted of insulting the feelings of believers , when he published an article entitled " Europe and We" on the superiority of Western values over Islamic. -06D-

The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
