The trial in the case of the fire in the Narcologic Dispensary continues
Baku / 16.10.18 / Turan: On October 16, the Baku Serious Crimes Court, under the chairmanship of Azer Pashayev, continued the trial of the accused in the criminal case on the fire at the Narcological Dispensary. The accused are former director of the center Telman Mamedgasanov, responsible for fire protection, security engineer Mahir Abdullayev, patient accused of arson Mohammed Mamedov and his doctor, department head Afet Mamedova. Since several witnesses did not appear at the trial, the decision was made on their forced appear.
The judge offered Mamedgasanov and Abdullayev to testify, but they said they were not ready.
The trial will continue on October 19. On March 2, 2018, 26 people were killed in a fire in the Narcological Center of Baku.
Arrested in this case, the patient Mamedov was charged under the Article 120.2.4 (murder in the generally dangerous way), 120.2.7 (murder of two and more persons), 120.2.9 (murder of persons in a helpless state) and 186.2.2 (destruction of another's property by arson) of the Criminal Code.
Mamedhasanov and Abdullayev are charged under the Article 225.2 (violation of fire safety rules that caused the death of victims and other serious consequences), and 308 (abuse of office) of the Criminal Code. Mamedova is charged under the Article 311.3.3 (receiving a bribe on a large scale). -0-
