UNAUTHORIZED ATTACKS ON FACEBOOK IN AZERBAIJAN
    Accounts (web-sites) of public figures and politicians in Azerbaijan on Facebook have been attacked. The accounts of active users have been deleted or closed, and for some the access to the network was limited, Facebook users told Turan. Some days ago the access to the profile of the reporter of Yeni Musavat Newspaper Feraim Ilgar oglu became impossible. `My page was closed in the morning on April 18. On that day I received many invitation to make friends. Most of them I did not know. Unknown who placed on his site the logo of the ruling Yeni Azerbaijan Party warned me that my page will be closed . We argued, and then my profile was closed . I appealed to the leadership of Facebook, the journalist said. Fahraddin Hajibeyli, who is in emigration in Germany, said that some days ago all materials on his page were deleted. He could not find articles written by him. He consider that it has been done by people who had started a polemics with him. Profile by activist of Musavat Party Gulaga Aslanli has been attacked also, and bad words against other users were placed there. Users say that such attacks on the profiles of Facebook users take place on the eve of parliamentary elections. Mainly the sites of people involved in politics and public activity and attacked. * Over the past three months the number of Facebook users in Azerbaijan has increased by 30,000, and today it composes 140,760 people, according to Facebook Statistics. It is noteworthy that 50 % of users are young people at the age 18-24 years old; 25-34 years old - 26%, and 15% are people at the age 13-17 years old.
