A civic activist Yalcin Gahramanoglu was detained at the Baku airport, when returning from Kiev, last night. This was reported in the social media by the activist’s friends, noting that he had come to attend the funeral of his mother.
The reason for the detention is not reported, and according to unofficial data, Gahramanoglu was taken to the Office for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he is now.
The press service of the Interior Ministry did not comment on the fact of detention and its causes for Turan IA.
Note that Gahramanoglu has lived in Kiev for several years and is the local representative of the National Council of Democratic Forces of Azerbaijan.
Previously, he was a member of the public committee to protect the rights of the convicted former Health Minister Ali Insanov, for which he had been subjected to pressure. -02B-
