Young Daughter of Deputy Chairman of PFPA Attacked on Street
Baku / 18.04.19 / Turan: On the evening of April 17, the 14-year-old daughter of the Deputy Chairman of the Popular Front Party Fuad Gahramanli Sanay was subjected to the physical and moral pressure of an unknown young man in front of the Elmlyar Akademiyasi metro station.
The man who attacked the girl blocked the way, began to insult her and her parents and beat her on her hands. Sanay fought off the hooligan with one hand, and managed to film him with the other hand.
A few days ago, Sanay Gahramanly organized a rally in memory of the deceased schoolgirl Elina Hajiyeva. Sanay's parents are convinced that the attack was organized by the authorities in retaliation for the protest.
According to unofficial data, the young man who attacked Sanay is an activist of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Tural Garayev.
Commenting on the incident to Turan, the girl"s mother, Zumrud Yagmur, reported that a complaint was filed with the 28th police station of the Yasamal district.
According to her, Sanay was followed for several days. The bully knew exactly the schedule of her classes and waited for her.
"All this speaks of a planned provocation by the authorities. This is confirmed by the fact that the bully accused Sanay's father of treason and demanded that she apologize to the country's President," the girl"s mother said.
In the meantime, representatives of the public regard the authorities to stop such wild methods of punishment for dissent and public activity. Recall that earlier the youth activist Giyas Ibrahimov was called to the police and warned not to scold the authorities, because "supporters of Ilham Aliyev can punish him on the street and the police will not be able to protect him."
"This is a warning to Giyas now applied by the authorities with respect to Sanay," her mother noted. -03B-

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers. However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
