When rubber is torn

İn childhood we had a favorite prank, we stretched medical tourniquet, and then suddenly released. Sometimes we used the tourniquet as slingshot for shooting something, but sometimes the tourniquet torn and returned back to our face and hurt badly - and then a sense of celebration disappeared.
Summing up the results of the past year it seems that the rubber is going to tear, and something will happen. It is difficult, but at the same time easy to explain such a feeling. It is difficult because it`s not clear how long it will last. It is easy because very rare something in the world changes quickly and often, at least in the state structure.
Normal societies have some tools for realization of common national tasks - reforms, elections, press and freedom of speech. You may form the parliament and the government which are accountable to people. But it is not admissible
for us.
Nostalgia for that rubber tourniquet makes almost physical recollections about Soviet times: then nobody could say what he wanted, could not condemn the authorities, could not praise the West, could not believe in God, or doubt the rightness of leaders. If be honest ordinary people lived much better then. Everybody drove"Zhiguli", and those who bought "Volga" felt sorry.
Heydar Aliyev held regular meetings of communists and condemn immodest officials, who were making pompous wedding parties. He offered not to make funeral repast, because the tents in the streets blocked the traffic. He did not allow to build dachas, or even repair them, so that nobody returned to the bourgeois morality, which corrupted people. We thought it was suppression of freedom and entrepreneurship. We believed firmly that if our people are given freedom it will flourish and show itself!
But again Heydar Aliyev came and remembered that we are Shias, we are Turks.
He said that his prohibitions to mark Novruz bayram in Soviet times and the arrests of nationalists during the KGB-times were done only for salvation the nation! Those times the General of KGB was thinking how to prepare the people to independence, and to prepare the army to protect the motherland !
Unfortunately, the period and the degree of zombing people can be endless, and the events in Turkmenistan and Northern Korea testify that.
When we look at bended Aflatun Amashev and smiling Ilham Aliyev with the prize in his hands we believe in a popular quotation - packaging is more important than content.
It seems that shock of Wikileaksa has gone away... Another example of the eternal law of Termidor ...
Herbert Wales have a very interesting story how a British guy turned to be in a cannibal"s tribe which declared that refused to eat people. The British
guy was sitting among cannibals, who were eating kebab from human and reasoning what should be done to stop the cannibalism and how to punish those who violated the law...
Listening to the statements of the president about his care of an in dependent press I remembered that story by Wales. I am not surprised at hypocrisy, but simply I want to give him a tourniquet, and to wait when it will tear in his hands. If only to see that day!
