Baku will demand 50 billion dollars compensation from Yerevan - ex-Prosecutor General of Armenia
Baku / 12.11.20 / Turan: Former Prosecutor General of Armenia and former representative of Armenia at the European Court of Human Rights Gevork Kostanyan said that Azerbaijan had prepared a lawsuit against Armenia to pay compensation for damage in the occupied territories.
According to him, the lawsuit was ready 2 years ago, but was not presented, as material evidence was needed.
“They could not present this claim, as they did not have sufficient evidence that Armenia is a responsible entity. They hired an international organization for calculating the damage, which estimated the damage caused to Azerbaijan at more than $ 50 billion. Recently, the President of Azerbaijan said that Azerbaijan is really preparing a similar claim against Armenia,” Kostanyan said.
After Pashinyan signed a well-known document on November 10, he confirmed that Armenia is responsible for the situation in the returned regions.
“If we do not take a competent legal counterattack in time, the shameful document signed by Nikol Pashinyan will also lead to serious financial problems for us, which even our descendants cannot pay,” Kostanian said, calling for Pashinyan's resignation and invalidating the document he signed and the resulting obligations. -02D-
