The 8th session of the UNESCO intergovernmental commission on the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage opened in Baku on Monday.
The forum involves 780 people from 116 countries. It is chaired by the Minister of Culture Abulfaz Garayev. He recalled that the session is timed to the 10th anniversary of the Convention on the protection of intangible cultural heritage adopted by 155 members from 195 countries of the world.
Garayev expressed hope that the issues discussed at the meeting will be taken and will push the promotion of peace throughout the world. -03D04-

Swiss singer Sophie de Kua will give concerts in Baku as part of her "Cultural Bridges Tour." The first concert is scheduled for September 18 at 7:00 PM at the Rashid Behbudov Theatre, initiated by the Swiss Embassy in Azerbaijan.
