Ilham Aliyev visits the construction site of a Carpet Museum
President Ilham Aliyev visited the new building of the Carpet Museum, and familiarized with the organization of design exhibitions and new conditions for the work of the museum.
It was noted that there are more than 15,000 unique items in the Museum currently, including works by leading Azerbaijani carpet weaving schools. The exposition includes jewelry and metalwork , embroidery , fabrics , costumes , etc.
The exhibition concept differs from conventional museum exhibitions. The main exhibits, carpets, are posted on arched walls, and they are visible from all upper floors. It allows to the significant part of the exhibition from different angles.
Offices, restoration workshops , gift shop, department work with visitors , exhibition area , a cafe with 120 seats , presentation and lecture halls, an interactive information system , auditorium for video and audio presentations , function in a five-storey building.
The official opening of the museum has not yet taken place. According to some experts , the place for the new museum is not comfortable, it is on the seafront; carpets are susceptible to wet weather , and keeping them in 200 meters from water is not the best solution. -02D-
