Marek Novotný Quartet at the 2022 Baku Piano Festival
Baku/20.05.22/Turan: A Czech jazz quartet with Marek Novotný (piano), Libor Šmoldas (guitar), Maksim Makagonov (bass) and Tomáš Hobzek (drums) will perform at the Landmark Orange Grove (90A Nizami Street, Baku) on 25 May 2022 from 21:00. Co-organized by the Czech Embassy, the performance takes place in the framework of the Baku Piano Festival.
The Czech composer, arranger and pianist Dr. Marek Novotný received his PhD in music theory. In 2010, Marek finished his masters in jazz composition at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he received a full scholarship under the tutelage of the Grammy award winner Jeffrey Holmes. Marek Novotný graduated with a „Summer Suite“ consisting of five movements for a reduced symphonic orchestra.
Marek cooperated with musicians such as David Dorůžka, the Epoque string quartet, the South Bohemian Philharmonic orchestra, Aubrey Johnson, Carl Clemens, Paul Lieberman, Bob Weiner, Crystal Monee Hall, Marcella Camargo, Michael Mayo, Chris Kazarian, Pam Steeber, Jason Robinson, Phil McDarmott, Inbar Fridman, Marco Peretti, Marion Solivan, Rachel Luz and Luciana Pires. With his various projects, he toured the UK, Germany, Norway, Denmark, the US and China.

People seek to learn about past eras by conducting research on the internet, watching films, or being regular attendees of theatrical performances. Some periods in cultural history have not been deeply studied, and finding precise, detailed information in the Azerbaijani language is nearly impossible. One such period is the Qajar era, which lasted from 1794 to 1985.
