Real Vocal String Quartet to Azerbaijan
The United States Embassy in Baku is pleased to sponsor the visit of the American musical group Real Vocal String Quartet to Azerbaijan from November 18 to November 24, 2012.
Real Vocal String Quartet, from San Francisco, California, re-imagines the classical string quartet in a uniquely American form, and is the only combined vocal and string quartet performing in the world today. Each member sings, arranges music, and improvises while performing. The group's surprisingly broad repertoire embraces the diverse influences of all four players, from jazz and rock to West African music and bluegrass. Real Vocal String Quartet has performed throughout North America, including on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and with Canadian Grammy-nominated recording artist Feist.
Real Vocal String Quartet is performing in Azerbaijan for the first time as part of the US Department of State's "American Music Abroad," a program that sends leading American musicians around the world to foster greater mutual understanding through music. While in Azerbaijan the group will travel to Baku, Gusar, and Khachmaz, where they will conduct workshops, jam sessions and public concerts. After leaving Azerbaijan, they will perform in Macedonia, Bosnia, Latvia, and Lithuania,
All Real Vocal String Quartet performances are free and open to the public. The U.S. Embassy invites all Azerbaijanis interested in live American music to attend one of the following events:

In a world increasingly marred by the effects of climate change, art has emerged as an unexpected, yet powerful, platform for raising awareness and sparking conversations on environmental responsibility. One such endeavor is the exhibition "A Different Kind of Climate," currently on display at Kapellhaus with support from the Goethe-Institut. The timing of this exhibition is no coincidence, aligning with the upcoming COP29, the UN Climate Change Conference to be held in Baku from November 11 to 22. The exhibition seeks to engage audiences on pressing ecological issues, blending local and international perspectives.

Amid the urban hustle and the cacophony of modern life, it is easy to forget that nature too has a voice. But artist Elnara Nasirli, with her latest exhibition "Whisper of the Forest - The Magic of Sound," seeks to remind us of nature's pulse — and its message. Now showing at the Gazelli Art House, Nasirli’s multidisciplinary showcase brings the audience closer to the heart of the forest, where every rustle, every whisper, seems to echo with life.
