In February of this year, prices for goods and services in the consumer market grew in comparison with January by an average of 4%. On an annual basis in January and February of this year, inflation was 2%, the State Statistics Committee said.
Despite the fact that the government still does not recognize the overall rise in prices for goods and services, devaluation of the manat made an impact on the consumer market, which official statistics does not hide. According to SSC, food in February increased 6.6%. In annual terms, food products became 2.5% more expensive. In February, the price of bread and cereals increased by 9.2%, oils and fats - 13.1%, fruits - 5.4%, vegetables - 6.4%, sugar and confectionery products - 5.7%, tea, coffee and cocoa - 8.8%, etc. Cigarettes have increased in price by 44.5%.
In February, the price jumped 3.1% in non-food products. On an annual basis (January-February 2014), non-food products rose by 1.7%. Building materials last month were sold an average of 7.1% more than in January. Particularly noticeable was the increase in prices for household goods (+ 33.5%) and electrical appliances (+ 25.8%), optical devices (+ 23.9%), as well as computers, laptops and tablets (27.5%).
In February paid services went up by 1.2% (year on year - 1.4%). Most of all raised were ticket prices for passenger traffic in the air (+ 21.9%) and sea transport (+ 37.3%). --08D
