Gas export from Shah Deniz field increased significantly
From January to March 2015 6.3 billion cub.m. of natural gas was transported via the gas pipelines of Azerbaijan, a source from the Azerbaijan State Statistical Committee told Turan.
According to the same source, during this period 29.3% of gas was transported via the South Caucasian gas pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum). 1.8 billion cub.m. of gas was pumped via this pipeline.
Gas transportation via Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline increased by 12.5% against the same period in 2014.
Only Shah Deniz consortium transports gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum. The gas is exported mainly to Turkey and 5% goes to Georgia as a transit. Since the second half of 2013 the Shah Deniz consortium also started transportation of a small volume of commercial gas to the Georgian market.—0—

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance.
