Hotel revenues increased by 15.5%
From the beginning of 2013, in Azerbaijan appeared two hotels, and as of July 1, their number reached 516. However, as shown by official statistics, a decline in the number of rooms, as well as simultaneous reception of guests.
According to the State Statistics Committee, as of July 1, the number of rooms in hotels and hotel-type facilities is 15,756 units, which is 1.5% less than at the beginning of the year. Number of guest beds is 32,736 or 0.3 % less than last year. The share of Baku is 9,887 or 30 % of the guest spots. In Khachmaz there are 6437 guest beds.
In the first half of this year, settled in hotels were 317.5 thousand people, which is 7.1 % more than in the comparable period of 2012. Of these, 58.6% were foreigners. The number of foreigners who settled in hotels for the period increased 5.8 thousand people. According to the SSC, 80% of the guests are tourists.
At the same time, the total number of overnight stays in hotels increased by 14.9% in the reporting period amounted to 703.4 thousand person / night. The share of Baku is 71.6 % of overnight stays.
The average cost of overnight stays per person amounted to 69.1 manat. In Baku, the figure is 118.1 manat.
During January-June hotels gained 79.4 million manat, which is 15.5 % more than in the comparable period of 2012. However, only 64.6 % of these funds accounted for by rent of rooms. - 08B -

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
