In January, consumer prices rose by 1.2%

In January, consumer prices in Azerbaijan rose by an average of 1.2%. This is a fairly high rate of inflation, given that in January of last year, prices in Azerbaijan rose by 0.1%.

According to the State Statistics Committee, in January, food prices grew by 0.6%, non-food products - by 0.1% and services - 3%.

In January compared with December, according to the observations of employees of GCS, prices rose for bread, pasta, fresh fish, olive oil, sour cream, tangerine, apple, pear, quince, pomegranates, potatoes, cabbage, greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc. 

At the same time there is a reduction in price of some foods, such as rice, buckwheat, chicken, turkey, butter, sugar, granulated sugar, orange, banana, beets, carrots and mushrooms.

In 2012, the official inflation rate was 1.1%, the alternative inflation - 9.9%. In 2013, the government forecasts inflation of about 5%. - 08D-
