In September, Food Prices Remained Stable
In September in Baku, as well as in other major cities of Azerbaijan, food prices on average remained unchanged. During the month, there were some changes in the prices of food products. Prices fell for sugar by 5% and for buckwheat by 9%. But the prices of flour slightly increased - by an average of 14%. In connection with the season there was increase in prices for agricultural products - an average of 5%. In general, compared to the same period last year, prices rose on average by 1.8%.
In comparison with the beginning of the year there was a decline in prices of 2.5%. Experts believe that in the coming days there will be stability in the prices of food products. They also predict that the prices of agricultural products will rise rather due to the end of the summer season.-0--

Azerbaijan's retail trade turnover climbed 3.9% in real terms in 2024 compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 62.2 billion manats, the State Statistics Committee revealed. Food, beverages, and tobacco accounted for 34.1 billion manats, while non-food products contributed 28.1 billion manats to the total.
