Internet Governance Considered in Baku
The Third Regional Forum on Internet Governance RIFAZ 2015 on the theme "Creating the conditions for the regional development of ICT innovation" was launched in Baku on November 3. It is held in the framework of the international telecommunications exhibition BakuTel-2105.
Participants of the two-day forum will discuss the current problems and prospects of development of the Internet, particularly in the framework of the event will discuss interesting topics such as "The transformation of education through technology", "Cyber security for privacy and innovation - initiatives of regional cyber security alliances", "Computer science in education - obstacles 2019," etc.
The two-day forum is attended by over 250 representatives of government, business, academia and civil society from different countries.
The forum is organized jointly by the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of the Azerbaijan Republic, the United Nations Development Programme and the University of ADA with the support of United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, as well as the secretariat of the Geneva UN Forum on Internet Governance. It should be noted that the Regional Internet Governance Forum held in Azerbaijan began in 2012, the year when Baku hosted the seventh meeting of the Global Forum on Internet Governance.

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
