Traders Tell Tax Authorities about Their Problems
During the March 3 meeting, taxpayers engaged in trading activities in the city of Baku told the Deputy Minister of Taxes Sahib Alekperov about problems arising in their ongoing work. The main problem is the avoidance by local producers of the necessary documents required for tax accounting.
The Ministry of Taxes Analytical Information Department noted that another problem is the presence of the mass of goods without supporting documents. Some owners believe that high bank interest adversely affects the widespread use of POS terminals in trade.
The Deputy Minister of Taxes Sahib Alekperov suggested the merchants cooperation with the Baku Tax Department (BTD) to ensure transparent tax accounting. "Taxpayers should correctly reflect the turnover and tidy work on its documentation," he said.
The Acting Chief of BTD, Advisor to the Tax Minister Habil Mammadov warned dealers that control measures will be carried out soon to identify the goods without supporting documents. He also hinted that the work to establish partnerships with taxpayers in 2013 will be deepened this year.
Note that the basic principle of the partnership agreement between the tax authorities and entrepreneurs is a kind of moratorium on tax checks and the payment of higher taxes.
Since January 1 of this year, trade enterprises in Baku can choose one of the two forms of taxation: a simplified tax of 6% regardless of the amount of the annual turnover, or a registered VAT on transactions of more than 200 thousand manats per year.
The Ministry of Taxes told Turan that on 1 January 2016 Azerbaijan had 269,554 active taxpayers, of which commercial entities were 32,229 and individuals were 225,962. ------08D
