At the trial of Avaz Zeynalli speech for the defense rescheduled for Feb. 28
Scheduled for today in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, the trial of the chief editor of Khural, Avaz Zeynalli, was postponed to February 28. The reason was the illness of one of the judges, the lawyer Elchin Sadigov reported. According to him, at today's meeting there was scheduled the speech for the defense.
Avaz Zeynalli is charged under several articles of the Criminal Code: 311.3.3, 311.3.4 (bribery and extortion by threat), 213 (tax evasion), and 306 (non-execution of judicial decisions).
He was arrested on the complaint of the then MP Gular Akhmedova, who herself is now accused of fraud and is under arrest.
However, the prosecutor asked the court to sentence Zeynalov to 11 years in prison. -16B04-
