Baku and Bishkek announce strategic partnership
Baku/20.04.22/Turan: On Wednesday, the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, Ilham Aliyev and Sadyr Japarov, after signing bilateral documents in Baku, made statements to the press. Aliyev especially noted the signing the Declaration on strategic partnership and the Memorandum on the establishment of an interstate council.
Strategic partnership is the highest level of interaction and the declaration sets the parties for such cooperation, Aliyev noted. He drew attention to the fact that Baku and Bishkek traditionally support each other in all international organizations.
According to the President of Azerbaijan, during the talks, special attention was paid to the development of trade and economic ties. "Today we discussed in detail how we can combine efforts to increase the efficiency of using the transport infrastructure, and in particular the East-West corridor," Aliyev said.
According to him, for Azerbaijani companies, the energy sector of the economy of Kyrgyzstan may also be of interest. Aliyev thanked the leader of Kyrgyzstan for Bishkek's support for the decision to declare the city of Shusha the cultural capital of the Turkic world next year.
In turn, Zhaparov noted the importance of interaction between the parties in the international arena, strengthening political dialogue, creating closer economic ties, joint implementation of large investment projects, and expanding humanitarian cooperation.—06B-
