Dmitry Medvedev: Russia’s Relations with Azerbaijan and Armenia Equally Important
For Russia, the relations with Azerbaijan and Armenia are equally important. This was stated by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev at a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, according to ITAR-TASS.
Medvedev noted that Moscow and Baku are developing a strategic partnership, "our countries have a lot of projects - in the economic, humanitarian, mass political issues."
"It is obvious that the visit should be used to the maximum for this purpose. Of course, this is not the easiest situation, and unfortunately, we have the aggravation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Frankly, this situation is of great concern to us. For us, relations with the two countries are extremely important. At the same time we are committed, as members of the Minsk Group, and as a responsible state, a permanent member of the Security Council, to the approaches that were formulated at the United Nations level," said Medvedev.
The Russian Prime Minister hopes to establish sustainable peace in the Karabakh conflict zone. Russia will do everything to settle it, said the head of the Russian government. -06D-
