He expressed the hope that Palestine will become a full member of the United Nations.
Azerbaijan, for its part, has decided to finance infrastructure projects in Jerusalem.
Mammadyarov also expressed his appreciation for the continued support by OIC of the position of Azerbaijan in the Karabakh issue and the territorial integrity of the country
In turn, the Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad al-Maliki expressed his appreciation of Azerbaijan and noted the need for community support to address the occupation of Palestinian lands, and Jerusalem, and the full implementation of UN Security Council resolutions. He noted that the occupation has changed the character of Jerusalem, where Muslim and Christian heritage is destroyed.
