Elvin Abdullayev: My arrest is a victory over the dictator
Today Serious Crimes Court sentenced a youth activist Elvin Abdullayev, member of the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party to six years in prison on charges of drug possession. Abdullayev made a last word, in which he said that does not consider himself guilty, and called his arrest an order. "My arrest is a victory over the dictator, I am happy that I have won and a political prisoner. I consider myself a winner because a dictatorial regime is afraid of me.
A power, which sells three tons of heroin, blames me for three grams of heroin. Time will come when this regime will be convicted here," said Elvin Abdullayev. However, he was interrupted by the Judge Fikret Garibov, demanding to speak essentially on charges. Judge’s remark, in turn, provoked a storm of protest in the hall.
"I was arrested for the purpose of intimidating the youth. However, the effect was reversed. The real criminal is power. A revolution will happen in Azerbaijan, despite the authorities do not want it," said Elvin Abdullayev. His speech caused a storm of applause in the hall.
In turn, in the Director of Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli said that if there are not such people as Elvin and his mother Zulfiya, the nation would perished. There is a great wave of repression in the country, Kerimli said. -03B04-
