Hamid Karzai: Together to Fight Drug Trafficking and Terrorism
Afghan President Hamid Karzai called for the expansion of cooperation in the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Speaking Tuesday at the ECO summit in Baku, Karzai said Afghanistan supports regional projects, especially attaches great importance to the transport corridors and the construction of pipelines. He called for increased financial support for regional projects.
Karzai also stressed the need for mutual support of the ECO in the fight against terrorism and stressed that his country is suffering from the drug trade.
"The drug trade also promotes terrorism. ECO countries should be together in the fight against drug trafficking and terrorism," said Karzai. -03C06-
