Head of Agstafa and His Two Deputies Taken from Home (Updated)
Baku / 19.12.19 / Turan: Last night, the head of the Agstafa district and two of his deputies were taken from their houses by employees of law enforcement agencies. The arrivals were masked and in black cars.
Family members of the detainees do not give any explanations. The local population is unaware of the reasons for what happened. This was reported to Turan by an informed source who wished to remain anonymous.
There is reason to believe that the detention is related to corruption.

What Happened to Head of Agstafa?
Baku / 19.12.19 / Turan: The executive power of the Agstafa region denied reports of local media about the detention of the head of the district, Nizameddin Guliyev and his deputy Ramiz Tatarov, by State Security Service (SSS) on December 19.
The assistant to the head of the district denied reports on the detention of Guliyev in his talk with Turan IA. “Guliyev and his deputy are at work,” the assistant said in the telephone conversation.
The Agstafa district prosecutor’s office stated they do not have any information on this matter and there is not any criminal case against the district leader.
SSS representatives are still not available for comments.
According to several local media reports, Guliyev was detained while receiving a bribe. Guliyev previously worked as the head of the Goranboy region, and before that, the head of the Azersu water distribution company. —06D-
