Ilham Aliyev about Intrigues of Anti Azerbaijani Forces
Azerbaijan has not broken ties with any country, President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting of the government yesterday. "We have not broken ties with any country. We have no tension with any state," said Aliyev.
Azerbaijan's foreign policy "is very active and flexible and based on the national interests."
"We do not step on someone else's direction and make smart moves. There is no power that could lead us to anything or involve us in any campaign that does not correspond to our interests," Aliyev continued.
"Azerbaijan is pursuing a multi-vector foreign policy," he said, noting his recent visits to Saudi Arabia and the Vatican. "Saudi Arabia is the center of the Muslim world. Our shrines are situated in this country. And the Vatican is the center of the Christian world. Being committed to its religious, national and spiritual values, Azerbaijan successfully and confidently moves towards modernization," Aliyev said.
At the same time, Aliyev again complained about the machinations of "anti-Azerbaijani forces."
"There are circles that do not accept the successful development of Azerbaijan and wish to cast a shadow on our deeds and continue their efforts to tarnish them. However, these efforts do not bring and cannot bring any results either in Azerbaijan or beyond. We do not attach and will not attach any importance to their words or articles, or statements," Aliyev underscored. -06D-
