Ilham Aliyev on tasks of Azerbaijani journalism
Baku/22.07.22/Turan: President Ilham Aliyev addressed the country's media representatives with a congratulatory message on the occasion of the National Press Day.
For a century and a half after the publication of the first national newspaper "Ekinci", the national press has gone a long way in its development. Azerbaijan is a country that occupies a worthy place in the system of international relations with its independent policy, the appeal says.
"That is why attempts to damage international reputation and influence domestic life are ongoing. During the Patriotic War, the Azerbaijani media fought on the information front, played an important role in the struggle against mass disinformation, in promptly and correctly informing society," the head of state emphasized.
The country's media are working tirelessly to inform the international community about the scale of Armenian vandalism in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
As viewed by Aliyev, Azerbaijani journalists should demonstrate "integrity in conditions when campaigns based on false information are conducted at the global level," "adhere to state interests and ensure the implementation of citizens' rights to receive complete and reliable information."
To conclude, he expressed confidence that "Azerbaijani journalism will spare no effort to continue the successes achieved," "will do everything to ensure the happy future of the people and sustainable development of society." -06D-
