The material was placed under the title, "Another provocation of Radio Azadliq." The recordings are of a conversation of a cell phone call by the journalist with the people of Nakhchivan. Director of the Media Rights Institute, Rashid Hajili, called the actions illegal, as it is in violation of the secrecy of telephone conversations.
Hajili reminded that listening to and recording telephone conversations is a prerogative of security services.
"Certainly, the recording of calls made by the correspondent of "Azadlig" radio were made and handed over to the media by authorities.
A telephone conversation was recorded and deliberately sent to the media. It is a serious offense, both for the media authority, and for the state agency that transferred the recording to the media. These actions give rise to legal responsibility," said Hajili. According to him, a telephone operator is also responsible, who is required to make a clarification. -03B04-
