International Organizations on Release of Khadija Ismayilova
Reporters without Borders (RSF) made a statement in connection with the release of Khadija Ismayilova from prison.
RSF consider her parole with probation period of five years an attempt to shut her mouth and silence after her release from prison,
The release of Khadija was also welcomed by the known lawyer Amal Clooney who represents her interests in the European Court and a representative of the Media Rights Protection Institute Nani Jansen.
The press release of the organization on behalf of Amal Clooney says: "We take note of the release of this innocent woman. Khadija Ismayilova is a journalist who exposes corruption in her country. Her release is a victory of all the journalists over the authorities.
She deserves full acquittal, and the authorities are obliged to create conditions for the continuation of her journalistic activities."
Another organization, Committee to Protect Journalists said in a statement that it requires the authorities of Azerbaijan to ensure the continuation of Ismayilova’s right to conduct journalism. -16D-
