Namazov: President Should Not Use Such Expressions
President Ilham Aliyev can not break free from the desire to impress everyone around, and himself, too, that the opposition is a traitor.
Such a manifestation of intolerance towards political opponents is unacceptable for the head of state, who assures the whole world of his own tolerance. Turan was told by the head of the Office of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) Eldar Namazov, commenting on Aliyev's speech at the Police Academy on July 2.
The search for enemies of the people, anti-national forces, traitors, etc. - all this is a manifestation of authoritarianism. In a democracy, the head of state does not express such things. However, Ilham Aliyev, regularly makes such statements, showing his true relationship to democratic values.
"Unfortunately, Ilham Aliyev acts as instigator of the civil war in the minds and promotes intolerance.
Under the Constitution, the President is the guarantor of the rights of every citizen, but his actions are pushing the country into internal opposition and a political crisis," said Namazov. -02B-
